Romans 11:33-36

"The God of Wow"

  1. Why do you think Paul breaks out in praise to God’s glory before he even gets to the end of his letter? What moves him to praise?  What moves you to praise of God?
  2. All things are FROM him.  How does keeping this in mind change how you view your possessions, talents, opportunities, and abilities?   What kind of life does it lead you to live?
  3. All things are THROUGH him. God is not some distant creator who made the world and walked away. How do you understand God sustaining your life? How have you personally experienced His presence sustaining you in some issue, trial, or situation?
  4. All things are TO him.  If God is the ultimate destination and purpose of everything, then how do your daily choices, career, relationships point “to him?”  What is one area of your life that feels difficult to align with this purpose of living for God’s glory?
  5. Our sinful nature, and culture, would have us believe that all things are from us, through us, and to us. What are some warning signs in your life, or attitudes, or stress levels, that indicate you   have slipped into that mindset?
  6. What does it look like to “give God glory” in the ordinary things of your life, like doing house or yard work, driving in traffic, answering emails, or spending  money and time?
  7. Paul ends this doxology with an “Amen” (which means “so be it” or “It is true”). Which of these three truths - that God is your source (from Him), that God is your sustainer (through Him), or that God is your goal (to Him)  - do you need to say a fresh “amen” to in your life this week?
I praise God for you church, for being so hungry and attentive to God’s Word. One of my greatest joys in ministry has been to preach to this congregation so eager to know God through his word. 
I love you dearly.  May God richly bless and strengthen you with the joy of the truth of this Romans 11:36  doxology.

    Sunday Classes

    Youth Sunday School (grades 6-12) meet on the 4th Floor of the Henry Building from 10-11 a.m.

    Children’s Sunday School (Pre-K through 5th grade) meets on the 2nd floor of the Henry Building from 10-11 a.m.

    Nursery (infant - Pre-K) generally operates year-round and is located on the 2nd floor of the Henry Building. The nursery is open from 8:45am through 12:30pm.
